Tutor Matching Service
While we encourage students to utilize free tutoring offered by the Learning Center for courses that we support, we are excited to offer a new partnership with Tutor Matching Service (TMS) as an additional resource for MU students.
This is an online tutor list that allows students to identify tutors for both online and in person tutoring sessions. To allow tutors more time to support students, TMS facilitates scheduling, booking, and payments. Tutors set their own rates, and students pay directly through TMS with a credit card.
MU students can also register as tutors through TMS. The Student Success Center provides “badges” to those tutors who have completed College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) training, or have been endorsed by a faculty member.

Become a Tutor
- Tutors simply need to go to tutormatchingservice.com
- Tutors select “login/sign up” in the upper right corner of the website.
- Tutors should select their school, and log in using gmail or Facebook, or by creating a TMS log-in using an email address and password of their choosing. They need to use this login information every time they come back to TMS.
- Tutors then should follow the sign up process. They can set up their calendar, but they will be able to come back and edit this information at any time. Make sure they also download and log in to the TMS app to complete their sign up.
