Presentation Requests

The Learning Center provides several outreach services to our campus partners. Please fill out the form below to request a short Learning Center overview presentation, longer study skills workshop, physical handouts, or the LC’s presence at a resource fair. We request at least 2 weeks’ notice for all outreach requests. If you have any questions, please contact Caitlin at danbornc@missouri.edu.

Types of Outreach:

  • Overview of Learning Center Services: (5-10 minutes; ideal for introducing your class to the LC’s support options)
  • Study Skills Workshop (40 minutes; see below for available topics)
  • Handout (Request to pick up Learning Center handouts)
  • Tabling/Resource Fair (Request that the Learning Center set up a table at your resource fair)

Study Skills Workshops

Study skills workshops are led by Learning Center Academic Coaches. These are 40-minute, interactive workshops. All study skills workshops include a short overview of the Learning Center’s services. Study skills workshops are offered for the following topics:

  • Test Preparation/Test Anxiety: Review effective coping strategies for test anxiety, how to prepare for a test, and test-taking strategies.
  • Study Habits: Learn effective study habits, including how to use the study cycle and memory techniques.
  • Note-Taking: Identify types of note-taking and review how to use your notes effectively.
  • Time Management: Learn time management skills, such as how to create and stick to a schedule.
